Del Mar Little League Umpires - 2022

The 2022 DMLL umpire assignment schedule - with the most recent updates - is online here:
http://q87.us/2022dmllumpire

New umpires are required to first attend an umpires mechanics clinic taught by Western Region Little League instructors (or Little League HQ materials). Once the clinic is completed, new umpires can then be assigned games on the umpire schedule. More details for new umpires regarding the program on the "Program Details" page (under Umpires).

We like to have one or more short (75 minutes) umpire meetings during the season. These are scheduled on mid-week evenings (Mon, Tue, or Wed) from 7:15-8:30 p.m. For 2021, we'll move to online meetings on Zoom. There will be a lively discussion of rules and game management for participants.

Meeting dates for 2022 are TBD. Last year's dates and topics were:
- March 22nd, 7:15pm (rule book changes for 2021 + more)
- April 12th, 7:15pm
- May 10th Changed!; Now on Sunday, May 16th 7:15 pm

Our youth umpire program is intended as a leadership development program for local youth in the community.  Our participants gain self-confidence and learn people skills that last a lifetime.

For game assignments, send requests via email including game date, time, and field. Without this information, the request(s) will be delayed.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the umpire program at DMLL.  See you on the ball field!

Regards,

Doug Means
DMLL Chief of Umpires (13th year)
